Barack Obama views on nuclear warfare are stern, to say the least. At a speech at DePaul University in Chicago, Obama laid his plan or the reduction of nuclear weapons not only o the the United States but worldwide. This plan is quite simple, the dismantiling o all nuclear weapons throughout the world. Obama believes that by getting rid of the great amounts of nuclear weapons he United States currently has the threat of nuclear terrorism will decrease dramatically. Currently, the rate of dismantling of nuclear weapons has dropped tremendously. Officials believe that the amount of nuclear weapons we posses may be as low since Dwight Eisenhower was President.

His plans for making sure countries and terrorist groups are not a risk contain zero military force. Obama believes that a combination of diplomacy and pressure will cause Iran to stop trying to creat nucear weapons and halt North Korea’s weapons program. He did not offer any solutions if these ideas did not work. Along with the threat of nuclear weapons Obama has pledged to end production of fissile material used to produce weapons and an end to weapons production in general. Along with the dismantling of nuclear weapons Obama has also said that he would immediately remove all nuclear missiles from “hair trigger” alert.
