Education

This is a response to Barack Obama's stance on education. http://www.ontheissues.org/Barack_Obama.htm

The current policy on education sucks! The No Child Left behind (NLBE) act should have never been put in place. Although the act was intended to improve the standards of education in America but the act was not fully planned out. NLBE has lots of flaws in its system and it needs to be improved as soon as possible. Many people feel that NLBE should be scrapped and that a new system should be put in place. Politicians such as Barack Obama say we should pay teacher with masters more money, send kids to private schools and incentives to hire more qualified teachers. Those are all good ideas but no one is taking the steps to make these ideas become a reality.
How can we pay teachers more money when we are dealing with the social security issue? As a country we do not know how we are going to pay for social security in the future but we want to pay teachers more money. That makes no sense because there is not enough money to pay teachers more unless the country wants to fall deeper in debt. The only way teachers are going to be paid more is if we pay them with play money and that has no value.
Private Schools
I can’t believe sending kids to private school is an idea to improve NLBE. It may be the most farfetched idea because not everyone can afford to attend private schools. This idea also disappoints me because never in a million years would I have thought someone with Barrack Obama’s background would make such a statement. He out of all people should know that money is not easy to come be and that not all people can afford private schooling. What it sounds like to me is that Obama is saying that private schools are better than public schools when it comes to academics. If that’s the case how are students that attend public schooling supposed to get a quality education that’s going to improve the NLBE act? This idea will only continue the current problems of NLBE. When will the vicious cycle end?
