Obama and plans for Iraq

http://www.barackobama.com/issues/foreignpolicy/
Barack Obama has made it very clear that he does not support the war in Iraq. He makes a strong statement as he expresses that he will “end the war in Iraq, close Guantanamo, restore Habeas Corpus and finish the fight against Al Qaeda”. If he becomes president, he will carry out several solutions in order to fix America’s current issues.
Obama’s first course of action will be to immediately bring our troops home. Bringing home one to two combat brigades each month will result in having every combat brigade back within 16 months. His objective is to make sure that there will not be any permanent bases in Iraq and will keep some troops in the area in order to protect our embassy. Obama feels it is necessary to make it understandable to Iraq’s leaders that our troops will be leaving in order to resolve the current issue.
Including Iran and Syria, Obama plans on making a new compact in order to reach the stability of Iraq and the Middle East. The goal is to secure Iraq’s boarders, which will prevent Iraq’s neighboring countries from intruding into the area. The plan will also segregate Al Qaeda and provide financial support for the reconstruction of Iraq. Obama also plans on confronting Iraq’s humanitarian issues. Iraqis consists of two million refugees in which Obama plans to provide two billion dollars in order to expand services to them. This will ensure that the refugees will be able to find a safe place.
I stand by many of Barack Obama’s solutions in order to solve America’s current issues. I feel that it is necessary for our troops to come back home. Obama has several solutions that do not involve war. If these solutions are effective, not only will they save the lives of troops, but also save struggling families and hopefully put an end to this mess.
