Obama on Foreign Policy

In this article, the editor talks a little bit about each candidate’s view on foreign policy and the War on Terrorism. The article discusses McCain’s supporting view on the War, and Obama and Clinton’s opposing views. This article also talks about the plans that Clinton and Obama have to establish and maintain peace in the world. Obama’s plan is to take action when it is needed and to communicate better with both our allies and our enemies. Whereas Clinton’s plan is similar; however, she believes that it is not worth communicating with the leaders of the enemies because it will do no good.

Barack Obama’s view on the War on Terrorism is that the United States needs to remove their troops from Iraq. Obama opposed the War on Terrorism before joining the senate, and now he still opposes the war and wants to withdraw the troops. He also states that he will not hesitate to use force in order to protect the United States and its national security. Senator Obama believes that it is important to withdraw the troops from Iraq, and he has created a plan to do so successfully. His plan is to withdraw a small number of troops each month until all of the troops are back at home. He believes that this is the safest way because if we pull out too fast, terrorist might attack us while we are leaving. Also, taking our troops out of Iraq slowly will ensure the Iraq government security.

Although some of the other candidate’s views may seem like the real solution to the problems with Foreign Policy, Barack Obama has come up with the best solutions. I agree with Obama that it is time to withdraw the troops. I believe that we have spent too much time and money in Iraq. It is time to give the Iraqi government a chance to run on their own. Also, the money that we have spent on this war is enormous. Instead of spending money to improve Iraq, the United States should be using that money to fix the problems in their own country. I also agree with Obama that it is important to communicate with not just our allies, but also with our enemies. If we do not communicate with the enemies, we will not be able to understand what it is that they want. Communication is a major key to creating peace throughout the world, and if the other two candidates are not willing to at least try to communicate with everyone, then there will always be conflict in the world while they are in office.
