Obama's view on today's economy

Economic and Scientific Issues also play big part of the presidential election. On February 2nd of 2008, Obama discussed the notion of Yucca Mountain Nuclear Storage. Obama brings an interesting opinion whether Yucca Mountain should maintain the nuclear storage or not. Obama clearly stated that if he becomes the next president, he will immediately end the notion of Yucca Mountain because it will be safer for the people. Billions of dollars are already spent on Yucca Mountain to keep it as a nuclear storage; however, Obama says that is a mistake. Since the Yucca Mountain project has begun, Obama predicted that this was a mistake. Obama wants to stop wasting money on something that can potentially harm people. Obama also strongly believes in inner city recycling and against environmental racism. Recycling should be considered all over U.S. In addition, Obama introduced a bill which would ask for more pollution controls all over places. Another bill that Obama introduced was building healthier communities. Obama is greatly concerned about lead poisoning in communities which will eventually become very dangerous in our environment. I personally love the Great Lakes because I think it is a fun place to visit with friends and families. It will be hard to do that when it is not taken care properly. So I agree with Mr. Obama how he is a strong supporter of Great Lakes Regional Collaboration and the Great Lakes Environmental Restoration Act. In addition, he knows that we need a special preservation policy for the national parks and forests which will ensure the cleanness and it will be properly managed.
Obama strongly believes that we need to cut down and reduce the consumption of energy. By making our lightings and appliances more efficient, he thinks reducing energy is definitely possible. I agree with him because there are many people I know and witness everyday that waste energy including electricity, gas, and energy. This will be a challenge for all Americans which will be interesting to watch because if this works, we are saving energy for our economy and our selves. Obama concluded that American automakers are hurting themselves today because they cannot keep up with foreign automakers because they use sales of hybrids. I believe that we should use more and encourage hybrids because it might be better for our economy. Obama asked for greater ethanol production because it will make E-85 pumps more available in the market. To conclude, I agree with Obama’s views and opinions on today’s economy.
