Welfare, education, family planning, etc.

Barack Obama thinks that the American education system is doing well for some but not for all. He says that No Child Left Behind is false advertising. He feels that this sense of urgency that we need to restore is going to be a huge competition throughout the country for years to come. Obama thinks a way to solve this problem is to pay the teachers more and work with them to improve their standards. He then says that if we started young, this is improved in years to come. I agree with Obama in this aspect. I feel that teachers deserve to get paid more than they are getting paid right now. If we started teaching students at a younger age and helping them stay on top of things, this will help them in the future. While some teachers do not pay attention to No Child Left Behind, if people advertise it more maybe it will have a bigger impact on this issue. I think this piece is very creditable because it is from Barack Obama’s personal website. Maybe it is not directly coming from him, but it is his motives and beliefs on this certain issue. Obama then feels that family planning should be solely based on the person who is having the baby. He says that people should trust what each woman is doing to protect themselves and the baby. He did vote against banning partial birth abortion and says that stem cells hold promise to cure 70 major diseases. He thinks that the constitution is a living document and there should be no strict constructionism. With all of this information on abortion, Obama voted YES on expanding research to more embryonic stem cell lines to find out more information on just how harmful abortion can be. He then voted NO on notifying parents of minors who get out-of-abortions. On this stance, I agree with Obama. I believe that it does come down to the woman who is having the baby to decide, but there should be more research done to find out just how the baby is developing while the woman is pregnant. Like Obama says, this is a good way to inform the woman pregnant about what the fetus looks like while in the stomach. This source is creditable because it lists the facts of what Obama voted on and is on his main website. Barack Obama says that he is for the Stop Fraud Act to have full disclosure in subprime lending. Obama engages people of faith on all aspects of his public service. He feels that inner city problems are a huge deal and they have more of an impact on issues surrounding the city then just in that particular city. Obama feels that these citizens in need of welfare are aware of what is going on but they just need the help and drive in order to get out of this spot they are in. I agree with Obama on this stance. I believe that people in need of welfare have obviously tried to get out of it and just need to extra push to really show them what they can become of themselves. With the help of people around them, it should not be too hard to get themselves out of it. Welfare is a huge issue in cities and I think if more people promote no welfare and try to help others, maybe things will change in the long run. This source is creditable because I have seen a speech on this topic before and Barack Obama said exactly what he said in the speck that was written down on the website. Lastly, Obama thinks that being poor in this country is hazardous to your health. He thinks that National Health Insurance Exchange for coverage should be made more available to those in the country. Obama says that we should try and ensure access to basic care. I do not agree with these issues on health care. I believe that people are able to survive even if they are poor in this country. They may not be able to live like majority of people but they are still able to get by.
