Obama on the enviornment

Global Warming is not an issue that should be dealt with lightly. It is an issue that is happening today, and will not stop itself. It needs to be dealt with immediately, and it is important to hear what the candidates have to say about their plans on dealing with it when they come into office. Not only does the government have to take a stand, but they need to preach to the public how to deal with the issue as well.
The scientists say the answer is to reduce the carbon admission in the air by 80% by the year 2050. What Obama’s answer is to “implement a mandate of reducing emissions to 1990 levels by 2020.” He is taking what the scientists plan, and taking it to a new level. He plans on creating a nation low carbon fuel standard by the year 2010 as well as requiring 25 percent of electricity to come from renewable sources by the year 2025. He also plans on taking the information and preaching to the public about reducing energy consumption, which in turn will reduce the energy bills making everyone happy.

As president, I believe Obama will hold his promise of keeping the world from self destruction, as well as making our world a cleaner and healthier place to live. He creates high standards and discusses the ideas of the scientists to ensure the plans will effectively work in the amount of time he has given himself.
