http://www.startribune.com/politics/national/president/11822461.html

Obama has made significant progress in helping to change the way people have looked at the death penalty. While Senator in Illinois Obama saved the lives of many innocent people. Through great legislation skills and a persistent work ethis he orced member of the Senate to take a very deep look into the rules o capital punishment. Along with making siginicant changes in the death penalty he thoroughly impressed the legislatures and lobbyiss he orked with. Often times they would call him personally engaged with a relentliss will to win. At the same time he was great at making compromises with lawmakers.
The changes that were formed in 2003 as a result of Obama's persistance turned out to be lifesaving or several inmates. Through Obama's encouragement lawmakers examined the cases of 13 prisoners on deathrow. Ater months of examining each inmaes cases, lawmakers were stunned by the mistakes they had made. These 13 inmates were later found innocent or wrongully accused of a higher crime than they actually committed. Police interrogations turned out to play a key role in these wrongfully accused cases. often times prisoner's were orced to give a faulty confession.
